PROPOSED BILL by Children, Families, and Elder Affairs

Homelessness; deletes, revises, & adds definitions; establishes Housing Retention Program in State Office on Homelessness in DCFS for purpose of awarding competitive grants to local agencies to be used for homelessness-prevention assistance; provides grant application procedure; requires grant applicants to develop housing-retention assistance plan & to provide match of cash & in-kind services, etc. Amends 420.621; creates 420.628.
