CS/CS/SB 396: Building Construction and Inspection

GENERAL BILL by Regulated Industries ; Community Affairs ; Bennett

Building Construction and Inspection; Provides that the issuance of a statement of estimated regulatory costs does not apply to updates of or modifications to the Florida Building Code or the Florida Fire Prevention Code. Prohibits the Florida Building Commission from adopting rules that limit any exceptions or exemptions provided for modifications or repairs of existing structures within the limits of an existing foundation under certain circumstances. Requires that state agencies, local governments, and the court system adopt a sustainable building rating system, etc.
