HB 739: Automated External Defibrillators

GENERAL BILL by Steinberg ; Passidomo

Automated External Defibrillators; Encourages person or entity to notify local public safety answering point regarding location of AEDs in its possession; authorizes public safety telecommunicators to contact owners of defibrillators under circumstances involving coronary emergency calls; requires certain entities to notify local EMS medical directors of locations of AEDs; requires local EMS medical directors to maintain registries of certain AED locations; directs State Surgeon General, with assistance of DMS, to adopt rules to establish guidelines for appropriate placement & deployment of AEDs in places of public assembly; requires placement of AED in each public school in state; requires registration of such devices with local EMS medical directors.
