265.261  Direct-support organizations; definitions.--

(1)  A "John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art direct-support organization" or "direct-support organization" means an organization that:

(a)  Is a corporation not for profit incorporated under the provisions of chapter 617;

(b)  Is organized and operated exclusively to raise funds; to provide operational and maintenance services for the museum under a contract with the board of trustees; to submit requests and receive grants from the Federal Government, the state, private foundations, and individuals; to receive, hold, invest, and administer property; and to make expenditures to or for the benefit of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art;

(c)  Has been certified by the board of trustees as provided in s. 265.26; and

(d)  Has been approved by the Board of Trustees of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art for operation on the property of, or for the benefit of, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. Such approval shall be reported in the official minutes of a meeting of the board of trustees.

(2)  "Personal services" includes full-time and part-time personnel as well as payroll processing.
