Condemnation, sale, or release of seized animal products.
585.904 Condemnation, sale, or release of seized animal products.--
(1) When any animal product is detained or seized under s. 585.903, the department may petition a court for an order of condemnation or sale, as the court may direct. The proceeds of the sale of the product less the legal costs and charges shall be deposited in the General Inspection Trust Fund.
(2) Upon the payment of the costs incurred in the condemnation proceeding, the department may order that the product be delivered to the owner instead of being condemned or sold.
(3) If the department finds that any animal product seized under the provisions of s. 585.903 was not subject to such seizure, the department shall remove the tag or marking.
