AFTER CALLING FOR RENEWING TPS FOR VENEZUELANS, SENATOR ANNETTE TADDEO THANKS PRESIDENT BIDEN FOR MAKING IT HAPPEN

Miami —

This past week Senator Annette Taddeo hosted immigration advocates to urge the Biden-Harris administration to both extend and redesignate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans as the humanitarian crisis and state-sanctioned violence in the country have continued to worsen since the initial designation in March of 2021. The Administration had until today, Monday, July 11— 60 days before the expiration date— to indicate whether it will extend and/or redesignate TPS for Venezuelans.

Senator Annette Taddeo said: "Thank you President Biden for renewing TPS status for Venezuelans across our nation that fled Maduro's oppressive regime. A candle of hope remains lit in the homes of Venezuelans across our nation that fled a nation that has been led down a path of decay. As I stated last week in a letter to President Biden that was co-signed by 44 members of the Florida legislature, we must "continue to provide the much-needed support and safety to displaced Venezuelans seeking a better life."
