GENERAL BILL by Rules ; Banking and Insurance ; Judiciary ; Passidomo ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Brandes

Wills and Trusts; Creating the “Florida Electronic Wills Act”; specifying requirements that must be satisfied in the execution of electronic wills; authorizing an electronic will of a nonresident of this state which is properly executed in this or another state to be offered for and admitted to probate in this state; requiring a qualified custodian to post and maintain a blanket surety bond, subject to certain requirements, or to maintain a certain liability insurance policy; authorizing the Attorney General to petition a court for the appointment of a receiver to manage certain records under certain conditions, etc.

Effective Date: Except as otherwise provided in this act and except for this section, which shall take effect upon becoming a law, this act shall take effect July 1, 2017
